Orbit 04:51
If you’re a star I’m a planet I got caught in your orbit I’m sorry I can’t help it There’s nothing I could’ve done to prevent this Your song echoes in the caverns of my mind You’re an agate on the riverbed I didn’t expect to find with words so cleverly rhymed You’re the kind that’s rare to come by But I won’t dare say a word No I don’t dare say a word I’ll refrain from speaking too soon Like I always do If you’re a gust of wind I’m a falling leaf Just blown away in disbelief & you remind me what I admire in you exists in me Somewhere in me But I’ll refrain from speaking too soon Like I never do. If you’re a star I’m a planet I got caught in your orbit I’m sorry I can’t help it There’s nothing I could’ve done to prevent this

Untitled 05:43
There’s a world of liquid fire churning beneath our feet so much life beckoning to break through the concrete so many people ill never get the chance to meet and what’s further up the road can’t be foreseen I'll stretch these moments hold onto the in-betweens and pretend if only for a breath that I can stop the time before night fades into daylight before summer scorches into fall until I feel so much at once I can’t feel anything at all Woke up in a town id never been where the restless river meets the galactic ocean and suddenly the world feels new once again talking to a stranger on a park bench and while I’m fascinated by this seaside town theres a waitress sweating for every dollar just dying to get out Theres a portal to another dimension inside my heart somewhere in its chambers in its deepest part and I close my eyes and visualize everyone right there on this blue marbled miracle we all get to share and theres so much that can’t be seen the plankton the mycelium running but that doesn't mean it isn't happening there are so many people I'lll never get to meet but that doesn’t mean they aren’t living that doesn’t mean they aren’t out there living.

There’s a man in my apartment complex He sorts the recycling everyday He says it gives him purpose Gotta make use of this existence And make up for other people’s ignorance He once recited an Emily Dickinson poem to me And one by Arthur O’Shaughnessy We’ve spoken about angels and what we think happens when we die He hasn’t driven a car since ’89 Burning the earth’s blood just ain’t a way to survive But I always catch a look of shame in his eyes He says, “When I look at the trees all I see are burning flames And thats why I’m doing this every god damn day And everyone thinks I’m crazy but I think its the other way around. I've been doing this for ten whole years and I'll do it for ten more It's just something I refuse to ignore Whats the world gonna look like to all the babies that have yet to be born? And walking away from our conversation I can’t stop thinking about If everyone just sorted their own goddamn recycling themselves Well what would Steven be doing? Right now.

Blank 05:26
Stood there nervously as I heard your footsteps approaching for the longest time I thought of what I’d say to you when we finally met but the moment I saw your face my mind just went blank. do you even know how far your sound waves travel? rippling onto the shore of my mind you’re an agate on the riverbed I didn’t expect to find & maybe you can’t see the light you emit because it’s coming from you I wish you could see it the way that I do It shines so bright I’m a moth being drawn to your light walked on the railroad tracks like it was a balance beam and when you began to play I just sat there speechless listening saw a rainbow appear through the clouds saw a blue heron glide right over the sound saw a sea lion poke out its head and a bumblebee coated orange in pollen on the flowerbed & maybe you can’t see the light you emit because it’s coming from you I wish you could see it the way that I do & for the longest time I thought of what I’d say to you when we finally met but the moment I saw your face my mind just went blank I forgot how to even think.

It’s the last day of July feeling dizzy and sleep deprived and the nights are growing longer like our shadows as we walk further from the fire and the days that seemed like they were so far away have passed and turned into yesterday and I wonder where you are has your soul found another body? as a baby in the Philippines or a sloth up in the Colombian trees? as an alien in another galaxy or a moth under the lamp on my street? wherever you may be I hope we get another chance to meet & if there’s a reason why I’m alive well I hope I fulfill that purpose before it’s my turn to die but you taught me instead of an ending it can be seen as another beginning and I’m still trying to see it that way and the days that seemed like they were so far away have passed and turned into yesterday have passed and turned into yesteryear and enduring revolving around a star I’m just grateful to still be here
